Since OpenCities Map PowerView 2025, Python integration is no longer available. According to Bentley release information (KB0035229), Python scripting is now restricted to Map Advanced and Map Ultimate.
In modern geospatial workflows, providing a programming interface is standard practice. Many users rely on automation, reproducibility, and integration into existing GIS and data-processing pipelines. Removing Python support from PowerView limits its usability in professional environments and breaks established workflows.
The existing Python functionality already exists in the higher editions(OpenCities Map Advanced & OpenCities Map Ultimate). Therefore, the requested improvement is simply to make the same capability available in PowerView again, ensuring consistency across the product family and supporting efficient automation for a broader user base. Python integration, including the same core API modules (MSPyDgnPlatform, MSPyDgnView, MSPyMstnPlatform, MSPyECObjects, MSPyBentleyGeom), functions, and libraries, should be consistent across all OpenCities Map editions. This ensures that automation scripts and workflows can run unchanged between products and licensing levels.
